HHD's Dietary and Environmental Services Director

Alice Holloway has worked in food service since 1978. She has been the Certified Dietary Manager for HHD since 1989. She recently received a certificate of training on Gluten Free Menus from the University of North Dakota. She also has a National Serve Safe Manager Certification and maintains certification with the Association of Nutrition & Food Professionals. Alice lives in Haxtun with her husband Wilbur. Her adult children are pursuing their own careers.

The HHD Kitchen is open from 6:00am - 7:30pm seven days a week. Guest meals are always available for visiting family members. The dietary staff includes five full time and two part time employees. The Dietary Department serves approx. 2800 meals a month including patients, residents, staff and visitors.

The Dietary Department has a consulting Registered Dietetic Nutritionist who is also a Licensed Medical Nutritional Therapist. She is responsible for reviewing all patient and resident charts to ensure the Department is delivering proper nutrition. She visits the facility monthly and does schedule individualized patient education at the Hospital on an as needed bases.
Partnering with the Extended Care Unit Activities Department, the dietary staff provides ongoing special meals for the ECU residents throughout the year with a specialty menu to reflect the holiday or the theme of the activity. Family members are frequently invited and the meals are greatly enjoyed by all.

In addition to the Dietary Department, Alice Holloway is also the Director of Environmental Services which includes Housekeeping and Laundry. She has been in charge of these departments for 12 years. She has had extensive ongoing training through various distributors who handle the healthcare products and chemicals used to maintain a healthy environment at HHD.

Environmental Services has 4 fulltime and 3 part-time staff.

The Housekeeping staff are on site from 5:00am to 3:30pm seven days a week and maintain a 24 hour on call schedule for emergencies.

Laundry is done in house and is scheduled as needed.

The focus for Environmental Services is providing a clean, safe environment for patients, residents, staff and visitors.
