HHD's Radiology Director


Karianne has a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Medical Imaging from Ft. Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. She is also a Registered Vascular Specialist and maintains certification in Radiology, Mammography and Sonography. She has 15 years' experience in the radiology field, 8 of those in Haxtun.

The radiology department is open 7 - 5:30 and maintains on call coverage 24/7 for emergencies. Staffing is augmented by Multiple Modality Radiology Technicians.

Karianne lives in Fleming with her husband Karl and children, Kody and Siena.

The Radiology Department has several in-house services that are distinctive for a small Critical Access Hospital. Haxtun Hospital has ultrasound services including vascular, Mon. thru Friday. This very special capability also enables the Hospital to provide Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) on site in partnership with Dr. Timo Quickert and Dr. Colby Jolley on a monthly bases. The other service that is not readily available in many other hospitals is a Dexascan machine that measures bone density and can be extremely helpful in determining risk for fractures, also available Mon. thru Friday.

Beyond the routine in-house services, the Department has mobile Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Echocardiogram weekly.

The Radiology staff focuses on providing the best possible care for each patent and will do their best to meet your specific needs.
