The Controller is a key role that will support various aspects of finance and accounting for Haxtun Health. The position requires solid accounting experience combined with strong analytical and customer service skills.


  • BA or BS degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare accountant role preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Assists in the preparation of month end activities.
  • Prepares monthly journal entries as directed and posts to the accounting system.
  • Reconciles monthly bank statements as directed.


  1. Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements for internal purposes.
  • Inputs monthly trial balance into financial statements template
  • Reviews account variances and provide explanations
  • Prepares statistical reports for both internal and external purposes
  • Analyzes revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately
  • Maintains general ledger by reviewing trial balance and reconciling entries


  1. Assists with the annual audit preparation and completion.
  • Prepares work papers and documentation to successfully complete the audit
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts as needed, i.e. monthly, quarterly, and annually


  1. Provides assistance with payroll and accounts payable.
  • Functions as a back-up for the payroll and accounts payable systems
  1. Performs other duties as assigned.

FLSA Status: Exempt
Base Wage: $55,000/annual (additional salary commensurate with education and experience)
