Perform high quality imaging services while maintaining radiation safety standards to assist the Radiologist in accurate diagnosis. Responsible for scheduling, prepping, and performing a variety of radiologic services offered and acting as a resource to patients and customers in and outside of the radiology department.


  • Associates Degree in Radiology Technology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • CT Certification with State of Colorado or ARRT
  • Previous experience as a Radiology Technologist preferred

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Performs a variety of radiographic procedures for radiographic diagnosis as requested by the healthcare provider.
  • Provides radiological services by exemplifying the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform a variety of radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis.
  • Assesses the patient determining their ability to comply with the physical requirements of the examination to minimize patient or examination problems.
  • Enters proper technical parameters into the x-ray generating equipment to enhance visualization for best imaging per protocol.
  • Performs various procedures in imaging areas such as: X-rays, CT scan, Ultrasounds, bone density, and Electrocardiogram (EKG).
  • Follows established protocols for administration of contrast media.
  • Follows protocol for diabetic patients receiving contrast media.
  • Operates mobile x-ray equipment in emergency room and at patient bedside.
  • Ensures all radiographic and other modality examinations reflect the highest quality results obtainable.
  • Follows radiation safety guidelines.
  1. Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
  • Monitors that key supplies are not exhausted.
  • Inventories medical supplies and equipment.
  • Reports any malfunctioning equipment.
  1. Performs and maintains documentation.
  • Verifies correct patient information entered into all systems.
  • Maintains documentation of performance measures and quality improvement efforts.
  1. Communicates effectively.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with other healthcare team members.
  • Identifies and recognizes abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition. Appropriately reports condition changes to the ordering healthcare provider.
  1. Promotes and ensures patient safety in performance of all responsibilities.
  • Administers procedures in a timely and safe manner according to health care provider orders.
  • Demonstrates proficient technical/clinical skills and operational knowledge of equipment on unit.
  • Utilizes proper body mechanics, transfer/lifting techniques to minimize fall risk to patient and injury to self.
  • Implements infectious disease controls as appropriate including isolation procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), proper use of hand washing and gloves.
  • Follows proper procedures for wasting narcotics and disposal of sharps and hazardous materials.

Base Wage: $21.76/hour (additional salary commensurate with education and experience)
