Provides direct patient care in a surgical setting. This individual will monitor and manage the patient and operative environment before, during, and after surgery to maintain safety, optimize outcomes, and maximize available resources.


  • Current Colorado RN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • 3 years hospital/clinic experience

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Performs as the Registered Nurse in the Specialty Clinic; assisting Specialists with clinical procedures such as Endoscopy, Pre & Post-OP, and various other procedures.
  • EVLT – Prepares patient for exam and treatment, vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements for clinical visit. Reports condition of patient to provider, which may be indicative to a change in the patient’s condition.  Assist provider and his team with all procedures which may be required at time of visit.  Responsible for receiving chart notes in a timely manner of visit from provider for billing.  Will work closely with MA and Specialty Clinic Manager to obtain proper authorizations, orders and further scheduling.
  • Endoscopy Procedures – Will work closely with the CRNA assigned to the daily scope procedures, to include, but not limited to monitoring vitals, patient’s stages of sedation, documentation. Pre-op and PACU patients as needed when other assigned RN is with patient.
  • Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient’s condition to the provider.  Acts as a resource to the provider in order to provide optimal patient care.
  • Maintain a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of exam room, equipment and storage area. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures.  Follow manufacturer’s recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances.  Coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs with the Maintenance Department within his/her area.
  • Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed. Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinic process. End of day turnover of exam room(s), Specialty Procedure Room for next day Specialty Provider.
  • May assist with ordering supplies for the Specialty Clinic assigned to as directed, stocks patient care areas. Will work closely with the Specialty Clinic Manager maintaining updated PARS and inventory.
  • This position will work with the Infection Control Committee to keep current policies in excellent standing, while developing new policies as they may occur.

Base Wage: $29.00/hourly (additional salary commensurate with education and experience)
