Rachael Fryrear is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is providing mental health and substance abuse therapy services at the Haxtun and Fleming Clinics. Rachael has over two decades of clinical practice working with children, teens, and adults. Her experience includes individual and group therapy at home-based settings, school, inpatient/residential settings, and various correctional environments.

Rachael earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling and Criminology at Regis University in Denver, CO. She is also a Certified Addictions Counselor and is currently working on her Certification for Brain Spotting Practitioner (BSP). Brain Spotting is an extension of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). BSP is a technique that allows the individual to process trauma without needing to re-live the traumatic event(s).

Rachael also offers Acudetox treatment, a 5-point auricular (ear) acupuncture modality to manage and decrease cravings, withdrawal symptoms, relapse episodes, anxiety, pain, and insomnia. In therapy, she is skilled in using cognitive and dialectical behavioral skills to change unhealthy thinking patterns, practice emotional regulation, and encourage distress tolerance skill building. Rachael also uses Solution-Focused therapy to support clients’ strengths using positive psychology to promote solutions for healthy outcomes. Her focus is on guiding and supporting individuals in ways that are unique to them in order to promote healthy and happy living.
