A DPM is a specialist in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of lower extremity disorders, diseases and injuries. DPM’s are commonly known as Podiatrists. They are uniquely qualified among medical professionals to treat the lower extremities. Podiatrists utilize x-rays and laboratory tests for diagnostic purposes, prescribe medications, order physical therapy, sets fractures, and perform surgery. As part of a healthcare team, the DPM works closely with other health professionals to treat and control disease.
About Dr. Jacob Stuart
Jacob Stuart, DPM, is a foot and ankle surgeon officially recognized by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, Santa Barbara, with a major in Biochemistry. He went on to receive his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Western University College of Podiatric Medicine in Pomona, California. He completed a three-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery residency program at Botsford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, focusing on forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, wound care, limb salvage, and podiatric medicine.
Dr. Stuart is a Southern California native originally from Moorpark, California. After being a frequent visitor to Colorado over the years, he is now pleased to call Colorado his home. He enjoys participating in both summer and winter activities while maintaining a healthy balance between his personal and professional life.
