Meet Amanda Brierly, MOT, OTR/L
Education & Background
Amanda Brierly, OTR/L, is passionate about helping individuals achieve greater independence, confidence, and quality of life through personalized occupational therapy care. Originally from northeastern Ohio, Amanda discovered her passion for healthcare in high school, when she developed a strong interest in both massage therapy and occupational therapy.
At age 18, Amanda moved to Columbus, Ohio, to attend the American Institute of Alternative Medicine, where she earned her massage therapy license in 2006. She spent the next decade practicing as a medical massage therapist before continuing her education and completing an Occupational Therapy Assistant degree in 2016.
Following graduation, Amanda moved to Colorado and began her occupational therapy career in home health throughout the Fort Collins area. She later made the Plains her home, serving patients in both Holyoke and Haxtun hospitals. Wanting to expand her skills and provide an even greater level of care, Amanda enrolled in an accelerated bridge program through Muskingum University in 2020. She earned her Master of Occupational Therapy degree with honors, achieving a lifelong goal she first envisioned as a teenager.
Patient Care
Amanda enjoys working with patients of all ages and values the variety and meaningful relationships that come with practicing in rural healthcare. Her special interests include pelvic floor health, women’s health, and whole-person wellness. Using a compassionate, trauma-informed approach, she helps patients address challenges that affect their comfort, independence, confidence, and quality of life. Amanda is committed to providing evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s goals and needs.
She believes in meeting patients where they are, creating a welcoming environment where people feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their journey to better health and function.
Off-Shift
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys exploring her creative side through a variety of artistic hobbies. A self-described “dabbler,” she enjoys painting, mixed media art, resin jewelry making, woodworking projects, and other hands-on crafts. She also loves spending time with her two energetic dogs, who keep her active and are frequent companions on walks around town.
