Haxtun, CO— 11/12/2020 — Haxtun Health has seen an increase in positive COVID-19 cases in staff, patients, and community members in the last several days. On Wednesday, November 11, 2020, 2 staff members tested positive with the virus and were immediately quarantined and are recovering at home. Patients within the facility were also tested which resulted in 2 positive test results. Those patients testing positive are currently asymptomatic and are being closely monitored by our team of care providers.
Infection Control: Haxtun Health is following all proper infection control guidelines and measures to help prevent the spread of the virus. Visitor restrictions are in place within the facility and all Haxtun Health staff that are not part of direct patient care are also restricted from patient care areas at this time. Haxtun Health’s Tru-D UVC Light is working in full force to disinfect every area possible around the facility. The UVC Robot, which was recently obtained through COVID Relief Funds, is effective for inactivation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on hard, nonporous surfaces. SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes the novel coronavirus or COVID-19.
Symptoms We Are Seeing: Early symptoms such as nasal congestion, sore throat, headaches, and ear pain are trends that our Haxtun Health providers are seeing at the moment. It’s important to keep in mind these symptoms can also be symptoms of a cold or the flu. Regardless of what virus an individual might have, it’s important to stay home and away from others if you are sick. Staying ahead of the curve with your health is also important.
