Rachael is a respected psychotherapist from Denver, Colorado. And has resided in Northeastern Colorado for the past sixteen years. She has worked for Centennial Mental Health Center for the past ten years, and has served as Centennial’s Judicial Services Director for the past three years providing oversight to the Jail Base Behavioral Service (JBBS) Program, Offender Services, and Court Liaison initiatives.

Rachael has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling and in Criminology, and is a Certified Addiction Counselor. She has extensive experience in home-based settings, school settings, inpatient residential settings for at-risk youth, outpatient settings for adolescents and adults, and various correctional settings.

Additionally, Rachael is a registered trainer for the NADA protocol Acudetox Program, and has successfully implemented and developed Acudetox procedures in several rural county jails. Acudetox is a 5 point auricular (ear) acupuncture modality to manage and decrease cravings for drugs and alcohol, withdrawal symptoms, relapse episodes, anxiety, pain, and insomnia. Rachael believes that promoting alternative and safe methods of care for individuals having mental health or addiction problems is important, and she believes that many people experiencing these difficulties can benefit from this form of treatment.

In therapy sessions, Rachael is skilled in using cognitive and dialectical behavioral skills to change unhealthy thinking patterns, manage emotional regulations and encourage distress tolerance skill building. She also uses solutions-focused techniques to support client’s strengths using positive psychology to promote solutions for healthy outcomes. Her focus is with guiding and supporting the individuals in her care in ways that are unique to them, and she strives to develop strong, positive, techniques and solutions as a means to promote healthy, happy living for the long term.
